Architecture is more than steel and concrete—it's the story a space tells. Every texture, color, and material choice weaves into the narrative of how people experience a building, whether it's a hotel lobby that takes your breath away, a corporate office that fosters creativity, or a cultural center that honors heritage. At COLORIA, we've always believed that the right materials don't just fill a space—they bring it to life . Over the years, our clients have shared stories of how our products transformed their visions into reality, turning challenges into triumphs and blank canvases into unforgettable environments. Today, we're opening the door to their experiences, sharing real testimonials from projects where our marble series, travertine, lunar peak, and flexible stone became the heart of the design.
Client: Hotel Sereno | Location: Milan, Italy | Project: Lobby & Exterior Facade Renovation
When Hotel Sereno, a boutique luxury hotel in the heart of Milan, decided to renovate its lobby and exterior facade, the goal was clear: blend the building's historic 1920s architecture with a fresh, contemporary energy. The challenge? Finding materials that could honor the hotel's heritage while making a bold, modern statement. "We wanted guests to walk in and feel like they'd stepped into a space that's both timeless and forward-thinking," says Elena Rossi, the lead architect at Studio ARIA, the firm behind the renovation.
After months of research, Elena's team turned to COLORIA's marble series and travertine (starry blue) . "The marble series was a no-brainer for the lobby floors and reception desk—its smooth, polished finish exudes elegance, which is essential for a luxury hotel," Elena explains. "But we needed something more dynamic for the feature wall behind the reception. That's where the travertine (starry blue) came in. Its unique veining, with hints of deep blue and silver, looks like a night sky frozen in stone. It's become the focal point of the lobby; guests can't stop taking photos of it."
The exterior facade posed another challenge: the original stone was heavy and difficult to source. COLORIA's flexible stone offered the solution. "We needed a material that could mimic the look of traditional stone but be lightweight enough for the building's structure," Elena says. "Flexible stone was perfect. We used it to clad the upper floors, and it's held up beautifully against Milan's rainy winters. The best part? It installed in half the time of traditional stone, which kept our project on schedule."
"COLORIA didn't just provide materials—they provided a vision. The marble series and travertine (starry blue) have transformed our lobby into a space that feels both grand and intimate, and the flexible stone on the facade has made our hotel stand out in Milan's competitive skyline. Our guest satisfaction scores have gone up 15% since the renovation, and we attribute a lot of that to how the materials make people feel." — Marco Bianchi, General Manager, Hotel Sereno
Client: Horizon Tower | Location: Dubai, UAE | Project: Office Interior & Atrium Design
Horizon Tower, a 40-story corporate office building in Dubai's Business Bay, was designed to be a hub for innovation—so its interiors needed to reflect that. The challenge for the design team at DWP Dubai was creating a cohesive look across 10 floors of open-plan offices, meeting rooms, and a central atrium that connects all levels. "We wanted a material palette that would flow from the ground floor to the top, making the building feel unified," says Raj Patel, senior designer at DWP Dubai.
The team chose COLORIA's lunar peak golden and big slab board series as their primary materials. "Lunar peak golden has this warm, amber hue that adds energy to the offices without being overwhelming," Raj explains. "We used it for the accent walls in the meeting rooms and breakout spaces. It's subtle enough to keep the focus on work, but it still makes the spaces feel inviting." For the atrium, which spans the entire height of the building, the big slab board series was a game-changer. "We needed large, seamless panels to create a sense of openness," Raj says. "The big slab boards are 3 meters tall and 1.5 meters wide, so there are almost no visible seams. Walking through the atrium feels like walking through a canyon of stone—majestic, but not intimidating."
Durability was also a key concern. "With 500+ employees using the building daily, the materials needed to withstand heavy foot traffic and frequent cleaning," Raj notes. "Lunar peak golden and big slab boards have exceeded our expectations. The floors still look brand-new after a year, and the walls have no scratches or stains, even in high-traffic areas like the elevator lobbies."
"Our clients often comment on how 'put-together' the building feels, and that's thanks to COLORIA's materials. The lunar peak golden and big slab board series create a rhythm that ties everything together. Employees tell us the spaces feel 'inspiring' and 'energizing'—which is exactly what we wanted. COLORIA's team was also incredibly supportive; they sent samples quickly and even helped us adjust the color of the lunar peak golden to match our brand palette. It's partnerships like this that make projects successful." — Raj Patel, Senior Designer, DWP Dubai
Client: Tokyo Cultural Center | Location: Tokyo, Japan | Project: Exhibition Hall & Outdoor Courtyard
The Tokyo Cultural Center, a new venue dedicated to showcasing Japanese art and history, had a unique challenge: design spaces that honor traditional Japanese aesthetics while incorporating modern functionality. "We wanted visitors to feel connected to Japan's past but also experience the innovation of contemporary design," says Yuki Tanaka, the center's curator. "That balance is hard to strike, especially with materials."
For the exhibition hall, which features rotating art exhibits, the team chose COLORIA's travertine (vintage silver) and wood grain board . "Travertine (vintage silver) has a soft, muted tone that doesn't compete with the art," Yuki explains. "Its natural texture adds warmth, which is important in a space where people spend hours viewing exhibits. We used it for the walls and floors, and it creates a calm, contemplative atmosphere." The wood grain board, on the other hand, was used for the display pedestals and seating areas. "It looks and feels like real wood, but it's much more durable," Yuki notes. "We didn't want to worry about scratches or water damage from cleaning, and wood grain board has held up perfectly."
The outdoor courtyard, which hosts tea ceremonies and traditional performances, required materials that could withstand Tokyo's humid summers and cold winters. COLORIA's lunar peak black and lime stone (beige) were the answer. "Lunar peak black is sleek and modern, which contrasts beautifully with the traditional wooden pavilion in the courtyard," Yuki says. "We used it for the pathways, and its non-slip surface is essential for rainy days. The lime stone (beige) was used for the seating walls; its soft, earthy color blends with the surrounding greenery, making the space feel like an extension of nature."
One of the biggest surprises? How versatile COLORIA's materials are. "We initially thought we'd need to source materials from multiple suppliers, but COLORIA had everything we needed," Yuki says. "From the travertine for the exhibition hall to the lunar peak black for the courtyard, it was all under one roof. That simplified our procurement process and ensured consistency in quality."
"The Tokyo Cultural Center is more than a building—it's a bridge between past and present. COLORIA's materials helped us build that bridge. The travertine (vintage silver) and wood grain board create a sense of history, while the lunar peak black adds a modern edge. Visitors often say the space feels 'serene' and 'harmonious,' which is exactly what we hoped for. Working with COLORIA was a pleasure; their attention to detail and commitment to sustainability (many of their materials are eco-friendly) aligned perfectly with our mission." — Yuki Tanaka, Curator, Tokyo Cultural Center
