Every slab of rough granite starts as a sleeping giant in a quarry. But not just any quarry—COLORIA sources its stone from select sites known for their mineral-rich deposits, where the granite forms with unique patterns and color depth. "We don't just take any block," says Maria, a geologist on COLORIA's sourcing team. "We look for stones with character—specks of quartz that catch the light, veins that tell a story of millions of years of pressure. That's the foundation of great rough granite."
Once a block is chosen, it's carefully extracted using diamond-tipped saws, a process that balances precision with respect for the stone. "You can't rush this," explains Carlos, who oversees quarry operations. "If you cut too aggressively, you risk cracking the block or losing those natural patterns we love. It's a dance between machine and intuition." From there, the block is transported to COLORIA's production facility, where the real transformation begins.
